Fringe Events During Spark

Media Bites
Sean Plunket, co-host of Radio New Zealand’s flagship news programme, Morning Report will be the guest speaker at Media Bites, one of Spark's fringe festival events. Plunket will speak at a luncheon function at the Ferrybank Reception and Conference Centre in Grantham St, on Tuesday August 7. Plunket is known as a reporter who asks tough questions and digs deeply for the facts. For his efforts he is sometimes criticised and occasionally caned. But he remains one of the country’s best – and most admired – journalists.

Places are limited at this function and it is essential to book. For further information, contact:

Existence : Life according to art Exhibition
This large-scale contemporary art exhibition tackles some fairly hefty subjects in a relatively light-hearted way.  The exhibition is not intended to encourage the viewer to make their mind up about the origins of life in all its forms, but to prod the generation of more questions.  The premise of the exhibition builds upon the viewer’s lived experience and assumes that most people have some belief regarding creation or evolution, or at the very least, wonder how we came to be.  A star-studded line up of artists including Ronnie van Hout, Ricky Swallow, Peter Siddell, Natalie Robertson, Francis Upritchard, Zena Elliott, Mark Curtis, Michael Parekowhai and more…
